Haiti

Hi everyone!

Well, it has been so long since I had a chance to post anything on my blog. I bet you thought I forgot all about you, but I didn't. I just didn't have proper internet access. So anyways, Haiti was a crazy time. It was good though. We did lots of ministries like dramas and testimonies in churches, schools and on the streets. We also had lectures which were very good and I learned a lot. I will post some pictures to give you a bit of a picture of what Haiti is like.

Here are some pictures from our first week in Jacmel. I made friends with a girl who was learning English so I went to visit her everyday and got to meet her son and family. I lost my voice that week so it was very difficult to communicate, but we managed. In Haiti they speak French and Creole and a few people speak English so we had to have translators with us. It was a very different experience.

Another picture is from our trip up to the waterfall and we passed by tons of people who were bathing and doing their laundry in the river.

From my pictures you will see that even though Haiti is an island surrounded by water, it is very desert like. Very very dry. The Dominican Republic is lush and green, but the minute you get into Haiti, it's barren. You will see this from a lot of my pictures. It's so hard to believe, but when Columbus landed on Haiti it had about 26 feet of fertile soil and now there is like .09 inches. Haiti is changing though. God is transforming the nation!
